Pinterest For Business - Verify Website

To verify your website’s authenticity you can claim the website. When you do so, your profile picture will show up next to any Pins that come from your site, and a small globe icon will appear to the left of your website’s URL on your profile. You’ll also get access to website analytics for insight into what content your audience saves the most.

You can claim websites you own. To claim your website, you’ll need to add a meta tag or upload an HTML file to your website’s HTML code.

Read this article to learn how to claim your Instagram, Etsy, or YouTube accounts.

Add a meta tag to your website

  1. Log in to Pinterest from a web browser and click   to open your menu
  2. Select Settings
  3. In the “Claim website” section, enter your website URL then click Claim
  4. Select “Add HTML tag”
  5. Copy the tag and click Next
  6. Go to the index.html file of your website and add the tag to the <head> section before the <body> section
  7. Go back to Pinterest and click Submit

Upload an HTML file to your website

  1. Log in to Pinterest from a web browser and click   to open your menu
  2. Select Settings
  3. In the “Claim website” section, enter your website URL then click Claim
  4. Select “Upload HTML file”
  5. Click Download then click Next
  6. Upload the HTML file to your web server at the root folder – if you upload to a subfolder we won’t be able to access it
  7. Go back to Pinterest and click Submit

After you click Submit, we’ll automatically check the meta tag and claim your website. Once your site has been claimed, you can remove the HTML tag or file. Only making changes to your website in your Pinterest settings will remove the claim.

Keep in mind that you can only claim one website on your profile and a website can only be claimed by one Pinterest account.

3. Set Featured Boards
