1. Instagram TV (I.G TV)

On IG TV you can upload videos longer than 60 seconds long

What can I do with IGTV?

The point of IGTV is that Instagram users can now make longer videos, which can potentially become more-engaging content for followers.

Video Length

On IG TV you can upload videos longer than 60 seconds long but if you have less than 10k followers you are allowed videos of 10 minutes long. However, if you have more than 10K followers you can post up to 60 minute long videos

Videos are meant to be filmed and watched in a vertical, full-screen format, you never have to turn your phone to view IG TV videos

How to Create a Instagram NameTag


⇒ On your profile in the Instagram app,

⇒ tap the symbol.

⇒ Then tap “Nametag”.

If this is the first time you visit this page, you’ll see instructions.

To customize your Instagram Nametag,

⇒ On your profile in the Instagram app

⇒ tap the label at the top of the screen. This cycles between Emoji, Selfie, and Color.

⇒ On the Emoji screen, you can pick any Emoji, and it will be scattered over the background.

Scanning an Instagram NameTag

⇒ On your profile in the Instagram app
⇒ tap the symbol.

⇒ Update your bio by adding any profile
⇒ add usernames using “@” and
hashtags using “#”
⇒ tap “Done”

4. Instagram Shoppable Posts

It was only a matter of time, but Instagram has finally become a full-fledged e-commerce platform with their new Shoppable Posts feature, which is now globally available to users in a few different countries including:

 

Requirements:

To enable the ability to feature products:

  1. Tap  to go to your profile
  2. now Tap (⚙)
  3. Tap Shopping
  4. then Tap Continue
  5. Select a product catalog to connect to your business profile
  6. Almost there!, Tap Done!

If you don’t see Shopping under Business Settings, your account is probably still under review or it hasn’t been approved for shopping on Instagram. The review process can take up to a few days, but sometimes we may need to review the account in more detail, which can take longer.

To tag products in your posts:

  1. Select a photo and add a caption, effects and filters
  2. Tap the products in the photo that you want to tag
  3. Enter the names of the products you want to tag, then select them as they appear in the search box
  4. now Tap Done
  5. Tap Share

 

Hint:

To preview posts or save a draft of a post, click Preview Tagged Products or Save Draft on the page that allows you to add a caption to your post, under Tag People and Tag Products. You can tag products in both new and existing posts from your Instagram business profile. You can tag up to 5 products per single-image post or 20 products per multi-image post.

 

 

5. Add and Manage Multiple Accounts From the Same Device

Requirements:

To Add another Instagram account to your app:

⇒ On your profile in the Instagram app
then tap the ≡ symbol.
⇒ tap the gear icon (⚙) (at the bottom right of the screen)
⇒ Scroll to the very bottom and tap “Add Account.”
⇒ Add your other account by username and password, and you’re all set!

To Toggle Between Profiles

⇒ tap on your username in the top left corner
⇒ Here you will see all the accounts you are currently logged in to

  • Your main account will display Follower Counts
  • There is a cap of 5 accounts per app
  • Now you can manage all your accounts from 1 app without having to log in and out!
  • You can still view some insights of other logged in accounts while being logged in to an active account
  • There is an option to logout of all accounts at once

6.3 “How to see how many people viewed my Instagram profile”

*(Also the answer to “How many people clicked my Instagram website link and or email/call button and “How many people did my Instagram post reach?”).

In order to view how many people viewed your Instagram post or profile, do the following:

⟹ Navigate to “Instagram-Insights” Icon (a 4 line graph icon on on the top right for iPhone devices and Android devices or for privileged users Swipe Left and you will see the Insights Icon(second line on the left).

⟹ Firstly you will see your profile picture.

⟹ Below this you will see the heading “Interactions”.

Here you will see the following:

1. How many people have interacted with your profile over your last insight period. (Be it views, email, website or “call” clicks.)

2. (By scrolling down just a little). How many people found your profile over your last insight period with a daily breakdown.

3. (By scrolling down just a little more). How may impressions your posts have made over your last insight period.

Hint: Use these to test different posts types to optimize reach.

6.4 How to change Instagram Insight time period.

Unfortunately this feature is only available to certain profiles.

To check if your profile has this feature, do the following:

⟹ Navigate to “Insights” Icon (a 4 bar graph icon on on the top right for iPhone devices and Android devices or for privileged users Swipe Left and you will see the Insights Icon (second line on the left)

⟹ Firstly you will see your profile picture.

⟹ Below this you will see the 3 headings. Namely, Activity, Interaction and Audience.

⟹ Below the heading “Audience”. You should see a settings icon (⫯⫱⫯) 

⟹ Click the settings icon (⫯⫱⫯) to bring up the following time periods:

1. Last 7 days (Default)

2. Last 6 weeks

3. Last 6 months

⟹ Select a time period

⟹ Swipe down and Hold then release after 5 seconds in order to refresh the statistics.

7. Instagram Story

Requirements:

To Create an “Instagram Story”:

⟹ Tap  in the top left of your screen or swipe right from anywhere in feed.

⟹ now Tap  at the bottom of the screen to take a photo, or tap and hold to record a video. To choose a photo from your phone’s library or gallery, swipe up anywhere on the screen.

⟹ Tap  or  to draw, add text or a sticker to your photo or video. To remove text or a sticker, drag and drop it on  at the bottom of the screen.

When you’re ready to share, tap Your Story in the bottom left.

When you post a photo or video to your story, it appears in the following places:

  • On your profile: A colorful ring will appear around your profile picture, and people can tap it to see your story. Photos and videos from your story don’t appear on your profile grid.
  • At the top of Feed: Your profile picture will appear in a row at the top of your followers’ Feeds, and they can tap it to see your story.
  • In Feed next to posts you share: When you share a post, a colorful ring will appear around your profile picture in Feed. People can tap it to see your story.

Photos and videos you share to your story disappear from Feed and your profile after 24 hours, unless you add it as a highlight.

To Add You Story As a Highlight:

⟹ Go to your profile and tap Story Highights below your username and bio.

⟹ then Tap .

⟹ Tap to select the story or stories you want to add to highlights, then tap Next.

⟹ Choose a cover photo and enter a story name for your highlight, then tap Add (iPhone) or Done(Android). You can add more photos or videos to your highlight at any time by tapping Edit Highlight.

 

 

7.1 Instagram Story (With Links)

Requirements:

 

 

To Create an “Instagram Story”

⟹ Firstly, Tap  in the top left of your screen or swipe right from anywhere in feed.

⟹ then Tap  at the bottom of the screen to take a photo, or tap and hold to record a video. To choose a photo from your phone’s library or gallery, swipe up anywhere on the screen.

⟹ now Tap Instagram Links On the top or left of your screen

⟹ Tap “URL” and add your website link or Tap “IG TV” and select your video

⟹ then Tap “Done”

⟹ ⟹When you’re ready to share, tap Your Story in the bottom left.

 

 

8. Instagram Live

You can share a live video to connect with your followers in real time.

Requirements:

Why Live Video?

Once a live video has ended, it’s no longer visible in the app, unless you share a replay of it to your story.

To start a live video:

⟹ Firstly Tap  in the top left of the screen or swipe right from anywhere in Feed.

⟹ then Tap Live at the bottom of the screen, then tap Start Live Video.

⟹ The number of viewers appears at the top of the screen and comments appear at the bottom. Tap Comment to add a comment, and tap and hold a comment to pin it to the top so that viewers can see it more easily.

⟹ To turn comments off, tap  then select Turn Off Commenting. Keep in mind that any keyword filters you’ve turned on will also apply to comments on your live video.

⟹ When you’re done, tap End in the top right then tap to confirm. From there, you can tap Save in the top right to save it to your camera roll, or share it to your story.

To start a live video with a friend on Instagram

There are two ways you can start a live broadcast with a friend on Instagram. You can invite a friend to join your live video or you can ask to join the live video of a friend.

To go live and then invite a friend to join your broadcast:

⟹ Tap  in the top left of the screen or swipe right from anywhere in Feed.

⟹ now Tap Live at the bottom of the screen, then tap Start Live Video.

then Tap .

⟹ Tap on a person’s name to invite them to join your live video. Keep in mind you can only invite someone who is already viewing your live video.

⟹ If your friend accepts the invitation to join, you’ll see them appear in a split-screen view. You’ll also see if they’ve chosen to decline.

⟹ You can remove the person you invited to join your live video at any time by tapping x at the top right corner of their split-screen.

To ask to join a friend’s live video that you’re watching:

⟹ Tap Request when you see the option to request to join the live video.

⟹ Tap Send Request

⟹ You’ll receive a notice that you’re about to join the live video when your request is accepted.

 

9. Instagram Verification Badge

Verified badges help people more easily find the public figures, celebrities and brands they want to follow

Requirements:

  • Latest Instagram Version from either Google Play Store or Apple App Store
  • A Instagram Profile that is:
  • Authentic: Your account must represent a real person, registered business or entity.
  • Unique: Your account must be the unique presence of the person or business it represents. Only one account per person or business may be verified, with exceptions for language-specific accounts. Instagram does not verify general interest accounts (example: @puppymemes).
  • Complete: Your account must be public and have a bio, profile photo and at least one post. Your profile can’t contain “add me” links to other social media services.
  • Notable: Your account must represent a well-known, highly searched for person, brand or entity. Instagram reviews accounts that are featured in multiple news sources, and they don’t consider paid or promotional content as sources for review.

To request a verified badge:

⟹ Make sure you’re logged in to the account you’re requesting a verified badge for.

⟹ Go to your profile and tap .

⟹ TapSettings > Request Verification.

⟹ Enter your full name and provide the required form of identification (example: government issued photo ID).

Keep in mind that Instagram can remove verified badges at any time, and may take away your badge or disable your account if you:

  • Advertise, transfer or sell your verified badge.
  • Use your profile picture, bio or name section to promote other services.
  • Attempt to verify your account through a third party.

 

Currently, only Instagram accounts that have a high likelihood of being impersonated have verified badges.

1. Filter Comments on your Instagram by Keyword

In order to filter the comments on your Instagram post do the following:

⟹ Navigate to “Settings”⚙ (a gear icon on on the top right for Iphone devices or 3 verticals dots ⋮ for Android devices or for privileged users Swipe left and you will see the Gear Icon⚙ on the bottom left)

⟹ Scroll Down till you see  “Comment Controls.”

⟹ Tap “Comment Controls.”

⟹ From here, you can select  1.Who to allow comments from and 2. Who to block comments from.

⟹ You will be able to toggle “Hide Inappropriate Comments” and even enter specific keywords or phrases you’d like using the “Manual Filter”

2. Delete comments from your pictures:

To delete a comment off an Instagram post do the following:

⟹ In the Instagram mobile app, Go to the instagram photo

⟹ Tap the speech bubble icon below the picture

⟹ Find the comment you want deleted

⟹ Swipe lightly to the left over this text.

⟹ Select the garbage can icon that appears to delete this post.

⟹ All done!! The comment has been removed!

This can also be done to comments that you post.

3. Disable Comments on Instagram Entirely

You can’t turn off comments across your entire Instagram profile; you can only disable them per posts.

In order to disable comments on post do the following:

⟹ In the Instagram mobile app, Post an image on which you’d like nobody to comment.

⟹ When you reach the page to add a caption, tags, and location, tap “Advanced Settings” at the very bottom.

⟹ This will open a screen where you can easily switch on an option labeled “Turn Off Commenting.”

⟹ Tap “Turn Off commenting”

⟹ All Done, the option to comment on this post will not be available

4. Clear Your Instagram Search History

To clear your Instagram search history, go to your own profile in the mobile app and do the following:

⟹ Tap the “Settings” button ⚙ (a gear icon on on the top right for iPhone devices or 3 verticals dots ⋮ for Android devices or for privileged users Swipe left and you will see the Gear Icon on the bottom left).

⟹ Scroll down and Tap “Search History”

⟹ Tap “Clear Search History”

⟹ When prompted, Tap “Yes, I’m sure.”

⟹ All done!

5.  Tag Someone in My Instagram post

If you would like to Tag somebody in your post do the following:

⟹ In the Instagram mobile app, Post an image that you’d like to tag someone in.

⟹ Tap “Tag People” (beneath the caption field of the post)

Tap on the person or object in the image to tag them

⟹ A search bar will pop up and you should see a list of suggestions as you type, but if for some reason you don’t see the person you’re looking for, Instagram makes it easy to search for people you know. Enter the username of the friend or person you want tag

⟹ now Tap on their name

Tap “Done Tagging”

All done. The person will now receive a notification informing that you have tagged them and other people who view the post will be able to tap on the tag to visit the tagged persons profile.
